Job Title: Wildlife Officer

Job Summary:

The ideal applicant will have experience in wildlife/exotics nursing, including koalas.

  • ">
  • Assist with daily operations at the centre or off-site as required.">
  • Provide daily nursing care of koalas being rehabilitated at the centre, including administering medications, providing food, cleaning enclosures, and observing the animal's health and behaviour.">
  • Assist with the collection of koala leaf if required.">
  • Provide veterinary nursing support for a variety of captive animals at other government facilities and free-ranging wildlife in remote areas as required.">
  • Carry out a range of tasks to support the day-to-day running of the centre, including basic maintenance of facilities and equipment.">
  • Perform administrative duties such as procurement, record-keeping, and data entry using medical databases and Microsoft Office.">
  • Prepare submissions, reports, and briefings to line management as required.">
  • Liaise with stakeholders relevant to wildlife management issues.">
  • Answer inquiries and provide information regarding wildlife and assist in resolving wildlife management issues.">
  • Undertake physical wildlife management activities as required by management.">

  • Ability to work safely as part of a team conducting fieldwork.">
  • Sound knowledge of the Nature Conservation Act 1992 and associated regulations.">

  • Appropriate veterinary nursing qualifications (preferable).">
