Job Summary:

The Data Center Technical Operations Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Amazon's Data Center, including risk management, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a 24/7 rotating shift pattern to ensure the smooth operation of the Data Center.
  • Manage contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure all work performed is in accordance with established practices and local legislation.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Generate Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets for events that the DCEO is responsible to manage.
  • Collaborate with DC managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability, and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation relevant to business and facility operations.
  • Responsible for the installation of racks and the provision of power and cooling within its constraints.
  • Review the management of both routine maintenance and emergency services on a variety of critical systems.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities.
  • Drive and implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and reliability.
  • Manage Facility assets and provide infrastructure and inventory asset management.
  • Attend and participate in regular Construction and Operational Meetings as required.
  • Familiar with Work Order compliance to ensure all contractual SLAs are achieved.
  • Interface with Infra Ops management for day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Assist in recruiting efforts.
  • Assist in the resolution of any infrastructure engineering or services issue.
