Cultural Heritage Coordinator Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Cultural Heritage Coordinator. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to support a cultural heritage survey program in Western Australia.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Aboriginal heritage legislation and regulatory requirements, as well as experience working in a remote field logistics environment. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with Traditional Owners and their representatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the planning and execution of heritage surveys and heritage management activities.
  • Represent the client on cultural heritage surveys and other heritage protection related activities and engagements.
  • Support the scheduling, scoping and delivery of heritage surveys and related field activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Archaeology, Land Management, Environmental Science or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant WA and Commonwealth Aboriginal heritage legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and complex environment, with a problem-solving mind-set.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency, meaningful relationship building and engagement skills.
