The Occupational Health Specialist provides expert occupational health support across the workers' compensation claims business.
The role drives and delivers continuous improvement programs to maximise return-to-work, health and life outcomes for injured workers.
The role also collaborates closely with internal claims staff and external stakeholders to facilitate the provision of appropriate treatment and return-to-work assistance on claims.
The key responsibilities include designing and delivering programs that provide a great client experience and enhancing occupational health performance across the claims portfolio.
This includes establishing frameworks, metrics and routines to ensure consistent delivery of occupational health requirements across all segments.
The role also involves engaging key external stakeholders, including injured workers, employers, doctors and allied health practitioners, managing relationships with service providers, mentoring and coaching claims consultants, and designing and facilitating training for internal and external stakeholders.
Postgraduate qualification in an allied health discipline is required along with experience in occupational health, workplace rehabilitation or a clinical allied health setting.
Advanced knowledge of statutory personal injury schemes is also necessary as well as experience successfully interacting with and influencing stakeholders.
Facilitating training is desirable along with project management experience.
