About the Role

MSS Security is seeking a highly skilled and experienced workplace relations and employment lawyer to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in providing strategic and practical legal support to our business.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in dispute resolution and litigation, particularly in workplace-related litigation. You will be responsible for leading the resolution of litigation and other disputes, preparing briefs for counsel and legal documents, and representing MSS Security in courts and tribunals.

We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a well-regarded law firm and some in-house experience. You will have a proven track record in dispute resolution and litigation, strong advocacy and communication skills, and some general commercial experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the resolution of litigation and other disputes, including employment, industrial relations, and WHS matters.
  • Prepare briefs for counsel and legal documents for litigation, including pleadings, affidavits, and submissions.
  • Represent MSS Security in courts and tribunals or instruct external counsel as necessary.
  • Draft, review, and advise on employment contracts, enterprise agreements, Individual Flexibility Arrangements, and workplace policies.
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with external legal experts.
What We Are Looking For
  • Experience: 5+ years post-qualification experience preferably with a well-regarded law firm and some in-house experience.
  • Skills: Proven track record in dispute resolution and litigation, particularly in workplace-related litigation. Strong advocacy and communication skills.
  • Commercial Acumen: Some general commercial experience is advantageous.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor of Laws from a reputable law school.
  • Other Requirements: Must have full Australian working rights and be open to undergoing a police check if required.
