About the Role

We are seeking two Senior Licensing Advisers to join our Licensing Team at the Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner. As a Senior Licensing Adviser, you will provide specialist guidance and advice to the Manager and the Licensing team on the Uniform Law as it relates to practising certificates, entity registration, and minimum requirements of legal practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on the Uniform Law and its application to practising certificates, entity registration, and minimum requirements of legal practice.
  • Design and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Licensing Team.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including lawyers, law firms, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Uniform Law and other relevant legislation.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in a licensing, government, or regulatory environment.
  • Experience in designing process improvements and managing projects to deliver improvements.
  • Well-developed understanding of the operation and regulation of legal practice and a high-level understanding of how to interpret and apply legislation and case law.
  • High-level communication and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to use those skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
