About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Underground Geologist to assist in implementing and executing geological tasks on a family-friendly roster.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and maintaining the diamond drill schedule to obtain all required data to produce block models inline with the mining schedule requirements.

  • Accountable for mine geology activities including monitoring and tracking ore mining activities
  • Producing and maintaining the diamond drill schedule, ensuring proposals are signed off
  • Contributing to delivering resource model updates upon drill program completion in line with mine planning needs
  • Geological reconciliation, providing advice to operations to minimize dilution, recover economic mineralisation and maximize commercial outcomes
  • Grade control, ore production and geological reconciliation standards in conjunction with technical teams
  • Assisting in preparation and consolidation of site Geological budgets
  • Seeking means of reducing costs and increasing revenue through process and continuous improvement both technically and commercially

Requirements

  • 7+ years' mining experience (5 + years' experience in gold mining)
  • Comprehensive understanding of mining cycle from exploration through to mining and geological reconciliation
  • Demonstrated technical excellence and best practice methods in grade control, geological modelling and estimation
  • Ability to accurately forecast budgets and manage costs
  • Demonstrated experience in Leapfrog
  • Tertiary Qualification in Geology
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, coach, discipline and mentor employees resulting in improved business outcomes
  • Possesses a current and valid Manual Driver's Licence
  • National Police Clearance valid within the last 12 months
  • Ability to pass pre-employment process
