Job Description

We seek a highly skilled and experienced geologist or geoscientist to join our team. As a key member of our technical team, you will work closely with our explorationists, geoscientists, and mineral resource modellers to deliver exceptional services to our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, managing, and maintaining solutions to internal and external geoscience problems;
  • Conducting geological fieldwork, such as mapping, sample collection, logging, and drilling supervision;
  • Developing novel approaches to solve geoscience and data analytical problems using machine learning and multivariate data analysis techniques;
  • Expert knowledge in mineral systems and mineral system science;
  • Conducting site visits for due diligence work, mineral resource estimation support, and project evaluations;
  • Validating and managing geological data from projects worldwide;
  • Reviewing quality assurance procedures and quality control data;
  • Compiling GIS workspaces and preparing graphical outputs;
  • Providing training for field teams and clients;
  • Contributing to the writing, peer review, and technical editing of reports;
  • Project managing work programs, budgets, and reporting;
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Training and mentoring other team members and contractors;
  • Carrying out training and professional development programs;
  • Participating in client progress meetings;
  • Leading multidisciplinary projects at various scales, from deposit to district; and
  • Actively participating in business diversification, growth, and development activities, identifying opportunities to support our clients.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will typically have:

  • More than 5 years of diverse and relevant experience from exploration and mining to research and academia;
  • A robust understanding of mineral system science and multi-commodity experience;
  • Familiarity with microcharacterisation and interpreting datasets from the micro-to-macro scale;
  • A good understanding of public reporting requirements, including JORC and NI43-101;
  • Good knowledge and understanding of quality assurance and quality control systems and sampling theory;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to report findings concisely, logically, and efficiently;
  • Exceptional leadership qualities and ability to manage direct reports well;
  • An MSc or PhD in geology or a related subject;
  • Living and residing in Australia or New Zealand, with working eligibility, or living abroad and eligible for engagement on an independent contractor basis.
