About The ICT Support Officer Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated ICT professional to join our team as an APS6 ICT Support Officer. This role will operate to deliver high-quality ICT services across the organisation, including in web services, IT support, and cyber security.
- Coordinate with the shared services provider on ICT matters.
- Maintain and enhance the website and intranet, in compliance with accessibility standards, the Digital Experience Policy, and content policies.
- Monitor web performance and analytics.
- Identify and resolve security issues consistent with shared services arrangements.
- Manage systems integrations.
- Lead the provision of IT support for hardware, software, network, and application issues consistent with shared services arrangements.
- Manage ICT service requests, incidents, and problem resolution for staff and senior leaders, consistent with shared services arrangements.
- Implement and monitor cyber security measures in accordance with the Protective Security Policy Framework, the Information Security Manual, and the Essential 8.
- Contribute to the development of internal ICT-related policies, including but not limited to cyber security policies, procedures, and awareness programs.
- Lead ICT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementation.

- Has knowledge of, and practical experience in, implementing cyber security frameworks, tools, and controls that are consistent with the Essential 8.
- Has strong problem-solving and analytical ability, with the ability to assess and prioritise competing demands.
- Has good communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

- Experience delivering services within a Commonwealth ICT environment is essential.

Eligibility Requirements
Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service unless the Agency Head has agreed otherwise, in writing. To be eligible for this position, you should be an Australian citizen by the completion of the recruitment process, except under exceptional circumstances.
The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level. The successful candidate will be assessed through our pre-employment screening checks, such as an Australian Criminal History Check, and will normally be subject to a six-month probation period if new to the Australian Public Service or has not yet completed their probation period elsewhere in the Australian Public Service.
