Job Overview:
The Community Support Worker will be working in a large co-educational school providing ongoing support to students, staff and families. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders including teachers, education support staff, students and parents to address the needs and goals of our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide culturally sensitive evidence-informed practice when working with students, families and other community members.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff and parents through effective communication and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with educational and health professionals to promote student wellbeing and academic success.
- Manage and record information in an ethical and confidential manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Diploma or degree in Social Work, Counselling or a related field.
• Proven experience working in community development, education or social services.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of local community resources and networks.
