Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Investigations and Child Safeguarding Unit. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of child safety standards, and the ability to mentor a team to deliver high-quality investigations.

This is a pivotal leadership role that requires strong analytical, interpersonal, and report writing skills. The successful applicant will oversee the allocation and progress of investigations, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and uphold legislative and policy obligations.

  • The position demands extensive experience in leading complex investigations involving vulnerable children and young people.

About the Role

  • This is a full-time, permanent position based in Melbourne, with regular travel required to regional offices and service locations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading and mentoring the Investigations and Child Safeguarding Unit to ensure high-quality, procedurally fair investigations.
  • Overseeing the allocation and progress of investigations.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve compliance with legislative and policy requirements.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor degree in Social Work, Quality Management, Legal Studies, Compliance and Risk or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in leading investigations, particularly those involving vulnerable populations.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, and report writing skills.
