About the role

As an Asset Protection Officer at Yarra Ranges Council, you will seek to reduce risk, and damage to Council Assets caused by owners or appointed agents during building or service authority works by managing the permissions of Works within the Road Reserve, and the administration of Asset Protection Permits across the municipality.

Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you'll communicate complex information clearly and effectively, assist with investigations and enforcement, and contribute to high-quality outcomes through inspections and quality assurance. The role involves managing time and resources efficiently to meet project timelines, while continuously seeking opportunities to improve through research and staying up to date with industry developments.

This is a temporary full-time position until 28/02/2026 (long service leave backfill) (38 hours per week).

This is a Band 5 role with an hourly rate between $39.54 and $46.04 per hour, plus superannuation.

Experience in administering consent and permit processes for road reserve, easements and service authorities other than Council
Investigate issues and prepare formal responses and enforcement correspondence.
Communicate technical civil infrastructure information effectively to stakeholders and provide clear, accurate advice on asset protection and road reserve permits.
The ability to identify issues, problems, and opportunities, generate alternative solutions, and determine courses of action,
Great organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with diverse customers.
