About this Role

The Specialist Indigenous Support Liaison works alongside leaders to improve the experience of Indigenous-identified employees in Mt Arthur Coal, contributing to enhanced cultural safety and wellbeing across the workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized support and advice to Indigenous employees to improve their experience.
  • Advocate for Indigenous perspectives and cultural capability.
  • Champion the application of the BHP Indigenous Cultural Safety Framework and support other Indigenous employee-focused initiatives.
  • Work with leaders and employees on Indigenous social, cultural, and recognition matters.
  • Partner with Indigenous Engagement to facilitate engagement with Prescribed Bodies Corporate, Traditional Owner corporations, and local communities.

Requirements

  • Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders, including diverse cultures and/or Indigenous peoples.
  • Understanding of and experience in the mining sector and BHP's operating environment.
  • Relevant vocational, TAFE, or University qualifications (e.g., HR/ER, healthcare, community development).
  • Previous experience in a similar role in case management, advocacy, community development, or human services.

Location

This opportunity is being offered on a residential basis in the Hunter Valley region of NSW. Part-time or full-time options can be considered.
