Project Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Project Accounting Specialist with a strong analytical mindset. This is an ideal opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their career, with proven experience supporting systems and process-driven projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day aspects of multiple projects across retail, operations, supply chain, and technology functions, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria, fostering effective communication and alignment.
  • Engage with end users to understand current workflows, identify process gaps, and support the transition to improved systems and practices, driving business improvement.
  • Support the executive team in the evaluation, selection, and ongoing management of third-party vendors and consultants, ensuring strategic partnerships.
  • Drive the collection of user requirements and process insights to support the planning and execution of project initiatives, informing informed decision-making.
  • Assist in delivering change management activities, including the development of training materials, delivery of workshops, and provision of go-live and hypercare support, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), tracking issues and ensuring prompt resolution, maintaining high-quality project deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and roadblocks, ensuring project stability and success.
  • Prepare and present regular progress updates to internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment across the business, facilitating open communication.
  • Document and share lessons learned through post-implementation reviews, supporting continuous improvement across future projects, driving best practice.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • 3-4 years' experience in a project/accounting role, with a strong background in finance and accounting principles.
  • Tertiary qualified in finance and accounting, with a solid understanding of financial regulations and standards.
  • Strong exposure to system implementations, ideally across WMS, PLM, or ERP systems, with a focus on Apparel21, SAP, and NetSuite.
  • Confident in gathering information, understanding operational workflows, and mapping requirements, with excellent analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working alongside senior leaders and external vendors, with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Clear communicator with excellent presentation skills, able to articulate complex ideas and concepts effectively.
