About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Urban Planning Team Lead to join our team at EBR. As a key member of our planning team, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in statutory planning, approvals, and strategic planning in NSW.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of professionals, including mentoring, coaching, and providing technical guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality planning services.
  • Private Sector Approvals: Deliver private sector approvals with diversity of scale across a range of markets, utilizing your expertise in statutory and strategic planning.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients to support master planning, precinct planning, or regional planning outcomes, providing exceptional technical and editorial standards.
  • Infrastructure Planning: Utilize a strong appreciation of the role of infrastructure in land use planning to inform your decision-making and ensure the delivery of sustainable and effective planning solutions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver complex planning projects, leveraging your expertise in strategic planning and team leadership.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports to exceptional technical and editorial standards, providing clear and concise recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Manage commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality planning services while minimizing risk.
  • Client Relationships: Improve or build key client relationships, providing exceptional client experiences and ensuring long-term partnerships.

Requirements

  • Experience: Experience in NSW undertaking statutory and strategic planning, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Education: A minimum bachelor's degree in an appropriate field, such as urban planning, geography, or a related discipline.
  • Leadership: An ability to lead and motivate high-performing teams, with a strong track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Desirable Skills: Experience navigating DA's, SSD's, or in undertaking strategic planning at precinct or development scale is highly regarded.
