Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Director or Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering innovative solutions and high-quality projects for our clients, as well as mentoring and developing the skills of our team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership in the design of gates, regulating structures, outlet works, valves, fish screens and other mechanical aspects of water storage dam infrastructure.
  • Mentor and work closely with the rest of the team to develop sustainable capability.
  • Lead and oversee delivery of quality technical solutions and successful project outcomes that satisfy our clients' needs.
  • Active participation in client relationship management, business development and the development of proposals and technical reports.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering and extensive experience in the mechanical engineering aspects of water storage dams.
  • Experience at all project phases, including project identification, feasibility studies, conceptual design, reference design, and detailed design.
  • A minimum of 15 years' experience in a consulting environment, specifically in the design and specification of gates, hoists, outlet works, trash racks and screens, fishways, pipe work, valves and other mechanical equipment associated with dams.
  • Experience in risk assessments and dam safety inspections or condition assessments of hydromechanical plant.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplined teams.
