Key Role within Region

The Workforce Planning Manager is a crucial position in the region, reporting directly to the Executive Manager. This role involves strategic planning and coordination of rostering for the region, requiring close collaboration with senior managers to align QAS and government strategies with business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Resources Stream, ensuring efficient workforce planning and rostering services are delivered to the region.
  • Develop and implement operational continuous improvement practices to enhance workforce planning and resource readiness coordination.
  • Manage regional timesheet processes, including collation, authorisation, auditing, and quality assurance activities in accordance with payroll guidelines.
  • Provide authoritative advice on rostering operational staff to QAS managers.
  • Contribute to regional strategic and operational plans by providing high-level workforce planning and management advice.
  • Maintain organisational integrity through confidentiality and adherence to QAS policies and procedures.
  • Proactively contribute to operational performance indicators to meet objectives, milestones, and KPIs, improving business activities and processes.
  • Participate in staff working committees to develop best practice resource planning and coordination procedures.
  • Represent QAS in consultations, meetings, and forums with stakeholders, including Queensland Health.
  • Lead and manage staff in emergency management capabilities for disasters, major incidents, and mass crowd gatherings, consulting with the Director Operations - Emergency Management.
  • Maintain credentialed scope of clinical practice as approved by the Medical Director and/or Commissioner, QAS.
