Release Manager

We are seeking a Release Manager to oversee the direction of our Release Management Practice, while leading and developing individuals and teams to achieve goals and deliver outcomes.

The key requirements are:

  • Release Management Enhancements:
    • Enhance release capability by formalising system changes and enhancements in a controlled manner.
    • Clearly define roles and responsibilities for each release delivery team.
    • Establish program forward release schedules.
    • Provide guidelines for managing risks and resolving issues impacting release scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Process Improvement and Coaching:
    • Work proactively and collaboratively with leadership to identify process improvement opportunities.
    • Review each release scope of work against risk controls to ensure appropriate rigor and consistency.
    • Support and coach Release Coordinators, and stakeholders in the release management process and related tools.
    • Lead and co-ordinate the release/implementation planning activities including delivery of Implementation Plans, Readiness checklists, Change Check Point communication requirements and escalation management.
  • Pipeline Management and Deployment Planning:
    • Forward Plan the implementations and releases.
    • Build a pipeline of pending releases with internal stakeholders.
    • Define and agree on release and deployment plans with impacted business units.
    • Develop comprehensive cutover plans detailing tasks, timelines, resources, dependencies, and risks.
    • Work with technical teams and SMEs to understand impacts of site isolation requirements.
  • Representing and Implementing Release:
    • Represent and successfully implement release management practices for the Bank's environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience:

  • Dealing with multiple vendors and managing release schedules.
  • Developed and managed release calendars, schedules and communicated across different teams to coordinate the releases.
  • Establishing and building the Release Management practice using ITIL as a baseline.
  • Experience with DevOps, JIRA or ServiceNow is highly desirable.
