At Macquarie, we're a global financial services group operating in 34 markets with 55 years of unbroken profitability. Our Model Risk Management team is responsible for ensuring that key financial and risk models used by the company are appropriately managed and validated.

We're looking for an experienced Market Risk Manager to join our Sydney-based team. As a Senior Manager, you will oversee and validate models used for Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR), Valuation Adjustments (XVA), the Standardised Initial Margin Model (SIMM) and associated valuation pricing models for trading activity.

Your primary responsibility will be to manage and deliver risk management outcomes to senior stakeholders across Commodities and Global Markets, Finance, Credit Risk, Market Risk and Prudential Risk teams. You'll also ensure independent validation meets Australian regulations such as APS180, CPS226 and APS116, while assisting the global team in performing validations for local regulatory requirements in other regions.

To succeed in this role, you'll need exceptional problem-solving skills, demonstrable risk management experience and a deep understanding of financial products, key risk factors and advanced modelling techniques regarding CCR and model performance assessments. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are also essential, along with previous experience with model calibration using statistical or stochastic models, advanced numerical/statistical techniques and computational finance.

We offer a competitive salary of $220,000 - $300,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including hybrid and flexible working arrangements, one wellbeing leave day per year, up to 20 weeks paid parental leave and access to a wide range of learning and development opportunities.

In our Risk Management Group, you'll be part of an independent and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to material risks. Our divisions include Compliance, Credit, Financial Crime Risk, Internal Audit, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Prudential Risk, and Risk Management Group Central.
