Academic Lead - Field Education Specialist

This is a key leadership role within our organization, responsible for overseeing the quality and implementation of field education units across various programs.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of providing leadership and developing high-quality teaching materials, particularly in the social work field education program. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective relationships with staff, students, and industry partners.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, implementing, and reviewing field education units to ensure alignment with national standards and guidelines.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with agencies to support student placements.
  • Overseeing the performance, grades, and issues related to student placements.
  • Reviewing student feedback and agency performance in terms of placement experience.
  • Ensuring all field education staff are supported and equipped to deal with student placement issues.

Eligibility for membership of the AASW and a minimum of five years (FTE) of post-qualifying practice experience in core areas of social work practice are essential requirements.

Additional desirable qualifications include a doctoral qualification in Social Work or significant progress toward completion, demonstrated evidence of a growing scholarship/research track record, and experience supporting social work and/or community services placements.
