About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Tailings Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the safe management of our tailings and water storage facilities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Implement and improve the Dam Safety Management Plan (DSMP).\
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, permits, and industry standards (ANCOLD, ICOLD, GISTM).\
  • Coordinate evidence for audits, inspections, and reviews.\
  • Maintain the Tailings & Water Risk Register and support periodic Dam Safety Reviews (DSRs).\
  • Manage governance actions from audits, inspections, and investigations.\
  • Collate and maintain geotechnical data for dams and storage facilities.\
  • Conduct engineering observations and monitoring.\
  • Implement and interpret advanced monitoring techniques.\
  • Assess slope stability and embankment integrity.\
  • Analyse tailings and water storage facility performance.\
  • Provide technical input to operational and capital planning.\
  • Develop and deliver geotechnical monitoring reports for stakeholders.\
  • Support training and awareness programs to strengthen dam safety culture.\
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented plans.\
  • Advise on best practices and new technologies to enhance geotechnical monitoring.\
  • Identify areas for improvement and propose recommendations.\
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve goals.\
  • Actively participate in knowledge sharing and professional development opportunities.\
  • Promote a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.\
