Job Description

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will lead the geotechnical strategy and execution across both underground and open pit operations at a long-life, high-performing mine. Your expertise in drill & blast design and execution will be crucial in overseeing geotechnical design, monitoring, and risk management for UG and OP areas.

You will provide practical guidance to production and technical teams, manage ground control systems, slope stability assessments, and geotechnical modeling. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in ground safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead geotechnical strategy and execution across underground and open pit operations.
  • Oversee geotechnical design, monitoring, and risk management for UG and OP areas.
  • Provide practical guidance to production and technical teams.
  • Manage ground control systems, slope stability assessments, and geotechnical modeling.
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in ground safety and efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications

A degree in Mining Engineering is essential for this role. You must have underground hard rock experience in drill & blast design and execution. Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement is also required.

Proficiency in Vulcan, Deswik, ShotPlus, or similar software is necessary for success in this position.
