Category Manager - Portfolio Lead

The role of Category Manager - WC Services, Products & ICT is responsible for managing the strategic development and execution of commercial portfolios/categories to achieve optimal value for money outcomes and meet objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a constant emphasis on delivering outcomes that make the complex simple, ensuring schemes deliver better results for stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of portfolio/category planning, defining roles within the organisation and developing value propositions to drive business growth.
  • Own the performance of assigned portfolios/categories by gathering and analysing data, attending industry forums and understanding supplier capabilities.
  • Be responsible and accountable for resolving complex, sensitive issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Deliver high-quality reporting through data analysis and storyboard narratives, provide robust recommendations, identify risks and manage supplier performance.
  • Model collaborative, respectful and ethical interactions with suppliers and key business stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice on challenging issues through strategic thinking and fresh perspectives.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in people leadership within a large, complex organisation.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in people leadership position.
  • Corporate mindset and ability to navigate sensitive issues with composure.
  • Strong ethical focus and capability to maintain discretion with confidential information.
