Job Summary

An Aboriginal Caseworker plays a pivotal role in keeping children safe and thriving at home. This role requires working sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children or young people, and collaborating with other agencies to address complex problems.

  • Work collaboratively with other agencies and engage in complex problem-solving strategies.
  • Assist families in formulating goals that align with their needs, addressing safety and well-being concerns.
  • Develop comprehensive safety plans and complete thorough risk assessments.
  • Manage cases and situations, including working with high-needs and high-risk clients and their families.
  • Be involved in court processes, including preparation of court documents and attending court proceedings.

The successful candidate will be confident, curious, and resilient, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. A relevant diploma or degree qualification is preferred, but applicants without a relevant qualification may be considered if they have at least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
