Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Estimator to join our team in preparing accurate and competitive tenders and quotes across various projects. As an Estimator, you will play a key role in collaborating with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective outcomes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review tender documentation and develop a clear understanding of project requirements.
  • Prepare and submit accurate cost estimates and tender submissions.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and evaluate quotes.
  • Identify and assess cost risks and provide value engineering solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to refine budgets and tender strategies.
  • Assist in post-tender negotiations and handovers to project delivery teams.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and estimation tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an Estimator role within the construction, fit-out, or civil industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Cost X, Buildsoft, Excel).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in construction, engineering, or quantity surveying.
