Senior Occupational Therapist Job Opportunity
\We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing their advanced knowledge and skills to provide high-quality care to clients.
\About the Role\This role involves coordinating clinical placements across the organization and liaising with relevant universities and education providers. The successful candidate will also be responsible for directly supervising Occupational Therapy students and providing support to other staff members who are supervising students.
\In addition, the Senior Occupational Therapist will carry a rotational/negotiated clinical caseload and provide clinical supervision to allocated staff. This requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
\Ideal Candidate\To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will hold a degree in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the relevant regulatory body. They will have demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill, and experience in the provision of Occupational Therapy services.
\The successful candidate will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the development of a positive and supportive work culture.
\Key Responsibilities\- \
- Coordinate all clinical placements across the Department and liaise with relevant universities and education providers.\
- Directly supervise Occupational Therapy students and provide support to other staff in the department who are supervising students.\
- Carry a rotational/negotiated clinical caseload and provide clinical supervision to allocated staff.\
- Build and maintain professional and therapeutic relationships through written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.\
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to clinical activities and student progress.\
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to Occupational Therapy practice.\
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement within the department.\
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.\
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain current knowledge and skills.\
- Support the implementation of evidence-based practices and research findings into clinical practice.\
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and coordination.\
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction and engagement.\
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.\
- Perform other related duties as required.\
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff members.\
- Contribute to the development of departmental goals and objectives.\
- Assist in the recruitment and selection process for new staff members.\
- Represent the department at external meetings and events.\
- Develop and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders.\
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines.\
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks.\
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services.\
- Make recommendations for improvements and changes to programs and services.\
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.\
- Perform other related duties as required.\
