Maternal and Child Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled healthcare professional to join our team in providing expert care to children and families in the community.

  • Develop and implement health monitoring schedules for children from birth to 6 years, adhering to Department of Health guidelines.
  • Provide anticipatory guidance, learning, health, and child development information to families through outreach home visits, clinic consultations, or group sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, child/family profiles, and other required documents, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to privacy standards.
About the Role
  • The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse and Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), holding additional qualifications in Maternal and Child Health.
  • A current driver's licence is also essential.
  • The successful applicant will possess strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Key Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of well child development, post-natal recovery, lactation establishment, and family dynamics impacting the child.
  • Experience conferring with Coordinator/Team Leader on issues relating to Department of Families Fairness and Housing notifications.
  • Familiarity with quality improvement cycles.
