Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Oncology Communications Specialist to shape our corporate voice and visibility across JAPAC, while contributing to broader regional corporate affairs efforts. This role supports the development and execution of integrated external and internal communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and patient-focused initiatives aligned with our mission to deliver innovative oncology care and expand access.

Core Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Communications & Stakeholder Engagement (70%)
- Support comprehensive JAPAC communications strategy covering media engagement, internal messaging, public affairs, and digital content.
- Ensure alignment with our global and regional priorities, driving corporate narrative and brand consistency.
- Manage reputational risks and lead issue/crisis response planning and execution, in collaboration with cross-functional and global teams.

2. Stakeholder & Media Relations
- Represent us at policy forums, industry association events, and advocacy discussions.
- Cultivate strong relationships with healthcare media and patient organizations to amplify our impact in oncology.

3. Patient Engagement Strategy
- Build and manage relationships with patient advocacy groups to elevate the patient voice in communications and strategy.
- Partner with internal teams to co-create campaigns and initiatives that address patient needs and improve treatment literacy.

Regional Corporate Affairs (30%) – JAPAC Focus
- Collaborate with JAPAC Corporate Affairs leadership to develop cohesive communications and patient engagement messaging across the region.
- Support coordinated responses to key policy and regulatory challenges affecting oncology across multiple markets.

Key Qualifications:
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA preferred.
2. Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in healthcare communications, either within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences company, or at a communications agency with demonstrated work supporting pharmaceutical or healthcare industry clients.
3. Core Competencies:
- Expertise in delivering integrated communications strategies in highly regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, pharma, biotech).
- Understanding of the regions' healthcare systems and policy landscape.
- Strong capability in media relations, message development, and thought leadership positioning.
- Experience managing multi-stakeholder projects across internal teams and external partners (e.g., advocacy groups, vendors, agencies).
4. Additional Competencies:
- Proficient in English (spoken and written).
- Experience working across time zones and within a global, matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and lead through collaboration.
- Creative, proactive, and adaptable mindset with a strong sense of initiative.
5. Fluency in a second language is desirable, reflecting our global context.
