Job Overview:
  • This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned lawyer to join our team as a Senior Legal Counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to lead our legal team in providing strategic advice on corporate and commercial matters, including financial services and product development.
  2. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in drafting, negotiating, and advising on commercial contracts, including information technology, outsourcing, and third-party contracts.
  3. They will also be responsible for providing quality in-house legal services, offering a client-focused approach to legal services delivery, and mentoring junior staff members.
  4. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of the Corporations Act, particularly Chapter 7, and experience in regulatory dealings and engagement.
Requirements:
  • To be considered for this role, you must have at least 10 years of experience as a qualified legal practitioner with a current unrestricted practising certificate.
  • You will need to have relevant tertiary qualifications in Law and extensive Corporate/Commercial experience, preferably with Financial Services product exposure.
  • A strong understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to provide high-quality legal advice in a fast-paced environment are essential.
  • You will also need to demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team.
