About the Role

Prelude Australia Limited is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Support Allied Health Professional. As an Early Intervention Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting young children living with developmental delay and disability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapy assistant support to the service delivery team to enable outcomes for children and families.
  • Work under the delegation and supervision of an Allied Health Professional or Early Childhood Teacher to implement routines-based intervention and other programs developed by the 'team around the child', including the Key Worker.
  • Collaborate with the team and work independently without direct supervision at all times.
  • Deliver supports across meaningful natural environments, including home visits, school visits, community visits, and developing resources.

Requirements:

  • Currently undertaking undergraduate study (3rd or 4th year) in either Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or Speech Pathology.
  • Ability to work with children and families using strength-based approaches.
  • Knowledge of early childhood intervention and the transdisciplinary / Key Worker model.
  • Experience working with children and families from culturally diverse backgrounds and people with disability.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team.
  • Ability to work within a billable model and be accountable for daily activities.

  • Verified NDIS worker screener check.
  • Hold a current First Aid certificate.
  • Hold a current Australian drivers' license and comprehensive insured private motor vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Hunter.
