Culinary Excellence Opportunity

QT Gold Coast is seeking an exceptional executive chef to lead our culinary team in delivering high-quality dishes to our diverse clientele. As a key member of our kitchen operation, you will be responsible for managing food preparation and presentation to meet the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.

 

About the Role

This is a full-time opportunity for a passionate chef eager to take on a new challenge and progress within a fast-paced, high-energy hotel environment. You will work alongside Adam Lane to manage a section of the kitchen operation, ensuring that all food preparation and service meet the highest standards.

 

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintaining impeccable hygiene standards and practices across the kitchen.
  2. Training, mentoring, and developing junior kitchen staff to foster a culture of excellence.
  3. Overseeing the preparation and presentation of food to meet the expectations of our diverse clientele.
  4. Collaborating with the team across our multifaceted kitchens to ensure smooth operations during peak times and special events.

 

Requirements
  1. Passion for excellence and a great attention to detail in every dish you create.
  2. 2-3 years' experience working in fast-paced kitchens, with a proven ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
  3. Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with your peers.
  4. Strong organization and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  5. Solid understanding of food cost and production processes, with a focus on maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste.
  6. Trade cooking qualifications (Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery) are essential.
  7. A strong leadership style and work ethic, with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  8. You must meet the requirements to work in Australia to be considered for the position.
