Senior Mechanical Engineer

At Randstad, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our construction team in Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of construction engineering activities.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and administering construction engineering activities, ensuring that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs, and specifications. You will also be responsible for interpreting designs for implementation in projects, contributing to improvements to existing designs, monitoring progress for adherence to program, and attending site meetings.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop mechanical systems for commercial construction projects, ensuring effective and efficient implementation.
- Utilize a range of computer programs to design, evaluate, and develop mechanical systems for various projects.
- Ensure system and project quality by researching and testing methods and materials being recommended.
- Be involved in the design and construction process from value management through to commissioning.
- Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government and safety regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years' Australian engineering experience.
- Tier 1 hospital experience highly desired.
- Project engineer and operational experience.
- Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specifications, standards, and implications for project accountabilities.
- Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve on the spot.
- High attention to detail.
- Sound computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office & Bluebeam.
