Job Overview

This role provides ongoing technical support to a production team and primary support for environmental regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be involved in multiple aspects of mill management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide experienced supervision to support shift personnel to ensure manufacturing lines remain in working order.
  • Ensure a quality product is manufactured in a safe and cost-efficient manner.
  • Respond to emergency issues as required and ensure company policies and procedures are maintained and followed.
  • Provide technical support to the manufacturing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Pulp and Paper Science, or another engineering discipline.
  • Process Control and web handling knowledge; understanding of ancillary technologies related to design and manufacturing of products within paper mills.
  • Excellent analytical skills; computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and CAD; strong planning and organizing skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team setting and independently; ability to assume a leadership role on projects; strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Work Environment

  • Hot and humid climate.
  • Fumes or airborne particles (dust, smoke); contact with chemicals (cleaners, oils).
  • Protective equipment required; work around moving mechanical parts, tools, and machinery.
