
Senior Nurse Leader

We are seeking a senior nurse leader to join our team as a Clinical Director.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced nurse to take on a strategic leadership role in driving the delivery of high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate will lead the nursing team, providing guidance and support to ensure exceptional patient outcomes. They will be responsible for developing and implementing clinical strategies that align with the organization's vision and goals.
A key aspect of this role is the ability to build strong relationships with referrers, specialists, and partner services to enhance patient access and continuity of care.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing leadership and management of nursing staff
Developing and implementing clinical service plans
Engaging with referring clinicians and services to streamline patient pathways
Setting performance goals with the team and enabling them to be achieved
Participating in recruitment and selection of nursing staff
Working closely with marketing and liaison teams to support education and awareness campaigns
Driving and leading implementation of project initiatives and participating in project groups as required
Assisting and supporting staff in education, research, and development opportunities
Being comfortable with electronic clinical prescribing systems
Championing a patient-first approach by promoting teamwork, empathy, and shared decision-making
Facilitating effective communication and coordination between clinical teams to optimize treatment and patient outcomes
Being part of a supportive leadership team that values expertise and empowers individuals to make a meaningful impact
Encouraging a workplace where connection, support, and shared purpose are central to daily practice
Requirements include:
Registration as a nurse with AHPRA
Experience in leading a team and managing people effectively to achieve goals
Demonstrated clinical knowledge and ability to apply relevant legislation, guidelines, and standards
Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carers
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
Commitment to the application of quality improvement and best practice principles, including the NSQHS
Strong commitment to quality patient care
Desirable qualifications include:
Postgraduate qualifications or experience in management or healthcare administration
Experience in radiation oncology
Demonstrated ability to facilitate change management
Demonstrated ability to create an environment that develops staff potential
