Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Groom Artist to join our team and contribute to the creation of high-end visual effects for film projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and create hair, fur, and feather grooms for characters and creatures using proprietary grooming tools.
  • Collaborate with Creature FX simulation TDs to ensure accurate dynamics and guide hair layouts.
  • Work closely with other departments, including Modelling, Rigging, Animation, and Lighting, to ensure seamless creature workflow.
  • Produce render tests to showcase the groom's progress and ensure high-quality results.
  • Meet project deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of quality and attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with Production and Leads to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in CG creature projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Maya and its applications in visual effects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline and workflow issues, with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working in a Unix/Linux systems environment.
  • Knowledge of dynamic hair simulation or other forms of dynamics.
