Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to fill the role of Aboriginal Tenancy Support Officer.

This position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of First Nations individuals and families by providing intensive, wraparound support to those whose tenancy is at risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strengths-based, culturally safe and trauma-informed support to First Nations peoples in need.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop tailored case plans that address tenancy challenges and promote wellbeing.
  • Support tenants to improve and sustain property conditions through addressing root causes.
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary case conferences that prioritise the client's voice and goals.
  • Empower clients through connection to community, practical support, advocacy and referrals to relevant services.
Requirements:
  • A background in Social Work, Community Services, Youth Work, Counselling, Mental Health or Drugs and Alcohol support.
  • Experience working with First Nations people, communities and cultural protocols.
  • The ability to manage complex caseloads guided by culturally safe practice principles.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed, strengths-based practice in community settings.
  • A strong understanding of housing issues and social justice principles.
