First Nations Healing Incorporated is an award-winning, not-for-profit organisation specialising in culturally safe and trauma-informed support for Aboriginal women and children impacted by domestic and family violence. With a proud history spanning over 50 years, we deliver a comprehensive range of services, including—but not limited to—core and cluster models, transitional and supported housing, and outreach programs. The organisation is governed by a Board comprised of Aboriginal community members, ensuring culturally grounded leadership and accountability.
Position Summary:
The Intensive Tenancy Support role is responsible for providing culturally appropriate and responsive direct client service provision for Aboriginal women and children experiencing the impacts of hoarding and squalor including increasing the client capacity and skill development to maintain and sustain tenancies. The role will be delivered to cluster clients and Supported Housing where tenancies are at risk and impacting housing opportunity across a range of housing options. Response delivery will be undertaken with a peer educator approach in partnership with Family Practitioners. Intensive Tenancy Support worker will provide direct support and refer to appropriate services for support with the following:
· Safety Planning
· Transitional and Supported housing
· Advocacy and referral
Key Responsibility:
The Intensive Tenancy Support worker will undertake the following tasks within the specialist case management framework:
- Data entry and case noting on the H2H case management system
- Ensuring child safe environments and practice including CARL reporting and liaison with Child Protection services
- Liaison and advocacy with housing and homelessness agencies, including SACAT, Centrelink
- Home visiting
- Client Feedback
- Liaison and advocacy with welfare agencies
- Follow and uphold the processes of the Information Sharing Guidelines
- Housekeeping tasks as directed by the Operations Manager
Essential:
- Degree in Social Work or 'equivalent' (acceptable may be a Certificate in a recognised and relevant qualification and/or comprehensive knowledge and understanding of social and emotional wellbeing issues affecting Aboriginal peoples and experience commensurate with the role)
- Experience in areas of domestic/family violence, mental health, substance abuse, homelessness and case management and trauma informed practice
- Experience working with Aboriginal families
· You must hold a current South Australian Driver's License or a license which permits you to drive in South Australia.
- Successful candidates will be required to clear and maintain probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check (Police Clearance), Working with Vulnerable People Check and Working with Children Check (applicants need to hold a current WWCC to apply).
