Timber Category Leader
About the RoleThe Timber Category Manager will lead the optimisation of our timber procurement strategy and supply chain across all Australasian operations. This strategic position oversees sourcing, negotiation, and supplier relationship management for timber and timber-related products.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive Cost Efficiency: Lead continuous improvement and cost optimisation in timber procurement to ensure maximum value for our business.
- Ensure Supply Chain Reliability: Guarantee reliable availability of timber inputs for manufacturing and sales functions to meet customer demands.
- Negotiate with Suppliers: Negotiate with suppliers to secure high-quality materials at competitive prices.
- Analyse Market Trends: Analyse market trends and compliance requirements to inform procurement decisions.
We are looking for a seasoned professional in timber category management with strong analytical capability and commercial acumen. The ideal candidate should have:
- Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Procurement (e.g., APICS or CIPS) along with Business, Commerce, or equivalent.
- Experience: Experience in managing third-party carriers, international freight, and customs processes.
- Cost Efficiency Expertise: Proven ability to achieve results in cost and process efficiency.
- Data Analysis Skills: Technological aptitude to leverage data and procurement tools for decision-making.
