About the Role

MOR. Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Infection Prevention and Control Manager to join our team in Tasmania.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing infection prevention and control practices, ensuring that all services provided meet best practice standards and preventing the spread of infection.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing expert knowledge and advice on the prevention and management of diseases and complications caused by microorganisms.
  • Developing and implementing effective clinical governance and review, risk management, quality improvement, and infection prevention and control systems.
  • Leading clinical and operational strategies in line with the local services plan and the Infection Prevention & Control Management Plan.
  • Auditing and monitoring infection control and hand hygiene data, interpreting results, and reporting corrective actions to the Executive team.
  • Completing monthly surveillance using HICMR tools and guidelines and reporting results to Clinical Governance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A postgraduate qualification relevant to Infection Prevention & Control.
  • Considerable recent experience in infection control practice within an acute care setting.
  • Strong analytical skills, the ability to challenge the status quo, and show initiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
  • An understanding of epidemiology of hospital-acquired infections.
