Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team at IPAR, where you will play a vital role in supporting individuals to return to work and independence after injury or illness.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess client needs and develop strategies for safe return to pre-injury activities;
- Conduct assessments such as initial assessments, functional capacity assessments, early intervention, home, worksite and ergonomic assessments, as well as vocational assessments;
- Build rapport with key stakeholders throughout the process, including the ill or injured individual, their treating health practitioners, employers and insurers.
Activities of Daily Living Assessments
- Assess an individual's Personal, Domestic, and Community ADL's, and identify recommendations for services, support, and/or assistive equipment;
- Complete equipment trials in person with clients, to ensure recommendations are safe and appropriate;
- Provide education to clients and Injured Workers to complement recommendations for support, and/or assistive equipment.
Support Needs Assessments
- Undertake a thorough assessment with clients to identify needs and risks associated with injuries sustained;
- Identify formal support required, detailing the nature of the support program, hours required, and duration through a Support Request Form (SRF) inclusive of a Roster for the Support Provider;
- Monitor support over time and support clients' improvement and recovery.

Qualifications Required
- Full registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency);
- Allied Health Qualification in Occupational Therapy;
- Passion for injury prevention, facilitation of return to independence at work and at home, and desire to make a difference;
- Exceptional communication skills and commitment to delivering what we say we will and when we will;
- Current driver's license and access to their own vehicle.
