About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Clinical Coder to join our Health Information Services team at Gold Coast Private Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our patient records, enabling our clinical team to provide the highest standards of medical care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver an exceptional coding service by accurately and efficiently assigning ICD-10-AM for patient discharges across all specialties.
  • Provide excellent customer service to the department by assisting with medical record management activities and general administration duties as required.
  • Support Healthscope's safety and quality improvement by actively participating in department meetings, coding audits, quality and risk reduction activities, and accreditation preparation events.
  • Ensure compliance with and participation in the National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards.
Requirements
  • HIMAA Certification in Clinical Coding or other recognized Clinical Coding course with experience in ICD-10-AM and ACHI.
  • At least 1+ years clinical coding experience within a hospital setting.
  • Sound understanding of Codefinder and Turbocoder.
  • Strong organizational skills in planning, prioritizing, and managing workloads.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Sound knowledge of private sector funding models.
