Job Overview

Griffith University's School of Medicine and Dentistry is seeking a highly experienced and skilled academic leader to fill a senior role in clinical education. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing curriculum and course requirements within the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the teaching effort of the School of Medicine and Dentistry, with a focus on clinical education.
  • Play a major leadership role in teaching, assessment, and curriculum development activities relevant to the MD program.
  • Contribute to scholarship, service, and professional activities.
  • Oversight of Phase 3 of the MD program, including coordinating teaching and learning, assessment, and placement activities.
  • Provision of academic support for students undertaking Phase 3 of the program.
  • Work closely with the Dean of Medicine and MD Program Director, Phase 1 and 2 Leads, and clinicians to ensure a high-quality student learning experience.
  • Manage staff and other learning and teaching resources to ensure efficient delivery of the MD program.
  • Contribute to the development of the MD curriculum and assessment within Phase 3.
  • Engage with hospital-based Clinical Sub Deans, clinical teachers, community-based clinicians, and other stakeholders to ensure delivery of a high-quality learning experience.
  • Make direct contributions to the delivery of teaching in the MD program, including team-based learning, capstone courses, clinical skills, and communication skills.
Requirements

The successful candidate will be a highly experienced academic leader with a strong background in clinical education. They will have excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and stakeholders. A strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment is essential, as is the ability to contribute to scholarship, service, and professional activities.

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time, continuing position based at the Gold Coast campus. The successful candidate will be required to attend campus in person as a normal requirement of the role. They will work across sites, including the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Rural Clinical School, in collaboration with University staff and clinicians.
