Are you ready for a thrilling maritime career? We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team in Newcastle, Australia as a Ships Agency Operations Manager.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced industry and is eager to learn and grow with our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the business for your port and drive quality and effectiveness in operations, resources, and processes.
  • Plan, deliver, and proactively achieve cost savings.
  • Ensure procedures relevant to operations, prefunding, approval processes, and account production is implemented and optimized.
  • Work independently in the office, in ports, and onboard vessels to coordinate and support your assigned port calls.
  • Liaise with clients, government authorities, crews, and vendors, and develop a strong local and industry network.
  • Keep yourself abreast of new business and sales opportunities, port activities, and regulation changes.
  • Shipping is a 24/7 business; out-of-hours and weekend work will be required, but compensated by flexible working arrangements.

Requirements:

  • You are a self-motivated, results-driven individual with a passion for achieving excellence.
  • Prior experience or exposure to the Shipping Industry is advantageous, but we welcome candidates with a strong work ethic and the right attitude to learn and succeed.
  • Attention to detail, administrative proficiency, and a good grasp of computer skills are essential.
  • You thrive under pressure, meet deadlines effectively, and approach challenges as opportunities for growth.
  • Safety, compliance, and wellness are paramount to your success and that of your team.
  • You must possess a valid Australian work permit, driver's license, and driving experience, along with eligibility for a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
