We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Casual Chef to join our team at 21c Museum Hotels. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Presentation: Work with senior chefs to ensure food standards are maintained to meet guest expectations, demonstrating confidence and competence in preparation and cooking techniques.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and maintain the quality of dishes at all stages, including preparation and presentation, adhering to established guidelines for food safety and handling.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team in all aspects of kitchen operations, contributing to aspects of kitchen presentation and operations, including maintenance, mise en place, and service.
  • Stock Management: Ensure appropriate stock rotation, monitor stock levels, and assist with food costing and control, where required.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Demonstrate high respect and understanding for Work Health & Safety procedures, and be physically fit to perform role-related tasks, including working on your feet, heavy lifting, and movement of goods.
Requirements
  • Trade Cooking Qualifications: Possess trade cooking qualifications and experience in a commercial cookery environment, with experience in functions being preferable.
  • Professional Approach: Demonstrate a respectful and professional approach to work and working with a team, with a passion and appreciation for food and a desire to learn.
  • Physical Demands: Be physically fit to perform role-related tasks, including working on your feet, heavy lifting, and movement of goods.
  • Availability: Have flexible availability, with mostly night work from 2pm-10pm, though could at times include lunch & breakfast service.
