Housekeeping Leader

We are seeking a professional leader with experience in housekeeping and team management to join our Housekeeping Team.

  • Prepare daily reports detailing room statuses for the Housekeeping Department.
  • Work closely with the Head of Department to enhance team productivity, motivation, and development.
  • Be accountable for maintaining department efficiency within set guidelines.
  • Coordinate daily work activities, ensuring all procedures are followed and tasks are completed according to company standards.
  • Conduct daily meetings to brief team members on activities and discuss shift issues.
  • Provide accurate handovers between shifts, communicating requirements for subsequent shifts.
  • Assist in preparing housekeeping rosters, ensuring an optimal number of team members is achieved.
  • Recruit and select team members for the department when required.
  • Organize training for housekeeping team members to enhance their skills.
  • Implement strategies to increase productivity and morale within the department.
  • Communicate effectively with departments to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Prepare regular reports as required by the head of department.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure facilities are cleaned and maintained according to Work Health and Safety regulations.
  • Control housekeeping inventory, including chemicals, linen, and supplies.
  • Manage housekeeping team member uniforms, ensuring adequate supplies are available.
  • Respond professionally to guest complaints, ensuring follow-up and informing the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Recommend strategies to improve guest comfort and experience.
  • Maintain team members' grooming standards.
  • Liaise with Front Office Manager and Maintenance Manager to ensure quick room changes.
  • Liaise with outside contractors for laundry and cleaning services when necessary.
  • Participate in scheduled training programs to improve self and department standards.
  • Conduct timely performance development appraisals for housekeeping team members.
  • Assist guests with enquiries and provide accurate information about property facilities and features.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • A quick thinker able to respond to situations efficiently.
  • Good grooming and presentation skills.
  • A leader who is also a team player, willing to be hands-on to support team success.
