Head of Special Education Services
Job Description:
The ideal candidate for this role will be a seasoned education professional with a strong background in special education. The Head of Special Education Services will oversee the development and implementation of high-quality teaching practices that cater to the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
About the Role:
This leadership position requires an individual who is passionate about promoting inclusivity and equity within the school community. As the Head of Special Education Services, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating programs that provide advice and support to classroom teachers and other staff members.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program.
- Lead and manage the Special Education Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
- Provide high-quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers, and other school staff to develop, plan, and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
- Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
Requirements:
- A relevant qualification in special education or a related field.
- Significant experience working in special education, preferably in a leadership role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
