Desktop Support Role

The primary objective of this role is to provide expert technical assistance and support for desktop computing environments. This entails installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware to ensure optimal service delivery.

  • Offer first and second-level support for desktop hardware including terminals, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and diagnostic tests on desktop systems to guarantee proper functionality.
  • Respond to support requests, service calls, or on-site visits to diagnose and resolve hardware issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors or OEMs for repairs, warranties, and part replacements.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the rollout and configuration of new desktop systems and upgrades.
  • Maintain detailed records of issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
  • Monitor desktop system performance and escalate recurring or complex issues.
  • Train staff on proper use and basic troubleshooting of hardware.
  • Maintain inventory of desktop hardware and replacement parts.
