About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Engagement Officer to support our Engagement Manager in identifying internationally aligned standards development opportunities for the benefit of the Australian community.

This role will involve working closely with stakeholders across various sectors, including Agriculture, Environment, and Manufacturing, to ensure Standards Australia remains connected and builds relationships with new stakeholders.

The successful candidate will bring insights about sectors, organisations, opportunities, and other relevant information into the organisation and work collaboratively with teams across the business to achieve success in developing and adopting standards in the national interest.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist stakeholders in understanding and participating in the standards development process
  • Develop project proposals for national and international standards development work
  • Establish, build, maintain, and manage relationships with stakeholders within defined areas of activity
  • Deliver insights and report on areas of opportunity in existing or new areas of standards development activity
  • Proactively work with stakeholders to progress project proposals and assist stakeholders to satisfy quality criteria

About You:

We are looking for an individual with at least one year's experience in a similar stakeholder engagement, policy, or government role, along with a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities. Experience in the Electricity or Gas sectors is desirable but not essential.
