Family Support Specialist Opportunity

The Family Support Specialist will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, client-centered services to families facing complex challenges.

About the Role:
  • Collaborate with clients to drive positive change within their home environments.
  • Support families in meeting their needs by focusing on cultural inclusivity and trauma-informed care principles.
  • Advocate for Aboriginal individuals, contributing to culturally sensitive case plans.
  • Develop and implement case plans in collaboration with families and other service providers.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure client voices are heard in case planning and goal setting.
  • Work respectfully to ensure achievable and realistic case plan goals.
  • Engage parents and children in playgroup activities.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications in Human Services (Diploma of Community Services or equivalent; degree qualifications preferred).
  • Practical experience working with vulnerable families and ability to identify at-risk children and young people.
  • Proven expertise in client-centered case management.
  • Familiarity with the Community Services sector, trauma impacts, crisis effects on families, child protection issues, and relevant legislation.
