About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Family Case Worker to deliver client-focused and outcome-based services. Your primary responsibility will be to work collaboratively with clients experiencing complex issues within our targeted early intervention service, aiming to reduce risks and create positive change within home environments. You will work independently as part of a broader dedicated team, connected daily via Teams and phone. Your goal will be to support families in meeting their needs, with a focus on cultural inclusivity and trauma-informed care, to improve the lives of vulnerable children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advocate for the needs of Aboriginal people, contributing to cultural case plans.
  • Commit to trauma-informed care under the Sanctuary model, integrating it into your daily work.
  • Foster respectful relationships with stakeholders, government departments, and the community for seamless service delivery.
  • Develop and implement case plans in collaboration with families and other service providers.
  • Ensure that the voices of clients and families are heard in case planning and goal setting.
  • Work respectfully to ensure that case plan goals are achievable and realistic.
  • Support and engage parents and children attending playgroup.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications in the Human Services field (Diploma of Community Services or equivalent; Degree qualifications preferred).
  • Practical experience in working with vulnerable families and an ability to identify children and young people at risk.
  • Demonstrated expertise in client-centred case management.
  • Knowledge of the Community Services sector, trauma and its impacts, crisis impacts on families, child protection issues, and legislation.
